There was a first time for everything, and this was Alhaitham’s first time seeing Kaveh like this since inviting him to move in. Adam’s apple bobbing, Alhaitham swallowed, getting his thoughts under control. Conflicted, Alhaitham ended up staring for a few seconds longer than he should have.
“What?!” Kaveh scrambled to cover himself with his sheets, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at Alhaitham’s chest. “Never seen an omega in heat before?”

Kaveh could command a hall of scholars by simply standing up straight, or tie even the most prepared opponents into intellectual knots, though sensibly enough to maintain his good name. Towards Al-Haitham however, he was shamelessly self-aware. With two hands, he had designed the most impressive structure in Sumeru – with no less than a finger, he had subdued the most insolent scribe.
