Satoru’s mother likes to call him nosey. To a fault, apparently. She claims that his nosiness is going to get him beat up one day, or worse. Satoru thinks that it’s a disgusting exaggeration. He is not that nosey. In fact, he wouldn’t even think to describe himself as nosey. He would use curious.
Yes, curious is the right word to use. He likes finding the answers to every question that crosses his mind. He becomes so obsessed with whatever catches his attention, it’s honestly a problem. He thinks there was a time he didn’t eat for a week because of it. Satoru genuinely can’t help it though, he has to know how things work, what makes people tick. The need gnaws at him until he’s satisfied, until his curiosity is quenched.
As of today, his curiosity has caused him to become obsessed with his best friend. Specifically, his best friend’s account on Grindr.

And then he notices something. Many things, in fact.
One, his wrists won't move. There's something rough and coarse that digs into them when he tries in vain. His wrists are bound by rope.
Two, he's in a different room. On a bed. How did he even end up here?! Fuck, he can't even tell how long he'd been knocked out for.
Three, this is not what he signed up for when he begrudgingly told Satoru he'd go to the "haunted house" with him.
