    “Me?! Why me?” Haruka sputters. He can feel his ears grow red. To be singled out like this and asked onto the rooftop for such a strange invitation- Tsubaki doesn’t even know him that well!

    “Why not you?” Tsubaki is watching him keenly and Haruka feels he has to look away.

    “W-well. I don’t think things like that suit someone like me.” It’s true. Things like makeup and shiny hair. That stuff suits people like Tsubaki, but not Haruka. As if he doesn’t get enough looks already! His classmates would probably take one look at him and- No, that stuff doesn’t suit someone like him at all.

    Tsubaki’s face and voice have softened a bit by the time Haruka manages to look back, and the unnamed emotion in his eyes makes Haruka want to hide.

    “How will you know if you never try?”
