mcu-based canon-divergent post-vol1. enemies-to-lovers. slower-burn than i had expected (unless you count explicit fantasies). reader has hair long enough to get in her eyes/be pulled. slightly darker than my usual fare, though still pretty light for folks who are familiar with the "dark romance" genre (think cicatrix vibes). borrows characters from the comics. HAPPY ENDINGS ALWAYS.

Read Chapter 8 on Feb 27, 2026; Rocket talks to Otta about some fucked up shit. Rocket finally (kinda) pulls his head outta his ass and decides to keep us (now dubbed Birdie in my head) away from the big bads, all of em.
Side note: so far think the capsule holds a baby Groot(if not, where tf is Groot!?😭) or other similar life forms.

Thank god the guardians belief is based on the percentage of believers and not the number itself. Still recognizing that the humans may need help they decide to implement a process of their own. Teach the humans how to live properly, and then release them to go teach other humans. The 'program' has been going pretty decent in the past 5 years, but most of the humans are grateful and happy that they get to learn that there childhood heroes are real. Again. Most humans.
