“The data the program was looking for… it got sent,” Markov said. It was disconcerting hearing him speaking without having a facial expression to connect it to. “I reached out to see what it was and… it’s here. It’s all in the storage area. But I still can’t understand it or analyze it properly, the data almost seems to disappear when I try to look at it directly.”
Alya’s heart raced. Data received via non-normal means right as an akuma attack alert went out…? With a Fox symbol appearing on Markov’s screen…?

Summary
Apollo failing at completing his duties allowed Python to reassert his claim over Delphi to begin with. It made sense Apollo would have to clean up his own mess. This was simply another trial he’d have to pass if he wished to be a god again. No one could fault me for not interfering in his struggles – the Fates themselves had decreed that he’d have to be the one to retake Delphi.
If he actually succeeded at doing so, then surely he would have been appropriately humbled by then. The Fates would not allow him to reclaim godhood unless he’d demonstrated sufficient deference towards those above him and a commitment to fulfilling his duties.
This was just another way the Fates had arranged for Apollo to be tested.
---The Council watches the final Trials of Apollo book. Zeus is deep in denial, Artemis is ALSO in denial but for a different reason, and Demeter does not like Lu.

Bitterness roiled in his chest. Mother and father had chosen to abandon him here. They hadn’t even come to visit him once in the past three months he’d been staying at the temple. He knew it was a couple of days' journey to it, but did they really not care enough to travel to him, even once?
Maybe he didn’t want to see them after all. They’d left him here to rot. Why should he return to people who’d betrayed him like that?
His stomach rumbled, contracting with hunger.

Summary
My brother was a pragmatic coward. Those who might possibly become threats later he did his utmost to… neutralize before such a thing could come to pass, but those who already were threats, he sought to placate in such a way as to avoid them coming after him. If they were “beneath him”, like demigods and the more minor gods were, he may still do things to try to “put them in their place”, humiliate them in small ways – but try to avoid doing something that the person would truly not be able to forgive.
Jason was not yet a threat. He did not have that protection. Yet he persisted in trying to reason with my brother anyway.
I was not surprised at Zeus’s lack of mourning over Jason’s demise.
---The Council continues to watch Apollo's adventures. Athena still carries a grudge against the Romans (though she's stopped sending demigods to die over it), Poseidon mourns Incitatus's tragic death, and Pluto would like everyone to appreciate how hard it is to keep his minions in the Underworld.

Summary
The rest of the Council seemed to have picked up on Apollo’s sudden lack of skill - I’d heard surprised murmurings whenever he’d missed a shot that normally, even one of his untrained kids would make with ease. Thankfully, none of them seemed to suspect my involvement in his skill decrease. While I wanted them all to be aware that crossing me had bad consequences, it was best to let them believe that I had not interfered in the trials I had set him. I had every right to do so, of course, being the king, but some of them may not see it that way, just as some of them complained whenever I dominated a game using my kingly powers.
It was unfair how some of them judged me, but that was sometimes the way of things. A king’s burden was truly heavy at times. I had to do what was best for everyone, even if they couldn’t see it.
---The Council watches the events of the Burning Maze. Poseidon has a crush, Ares is gunning to adopt a satyr, Artemis is ready to leap through the screen, and Zeus is a dick - but what else is new?

Well. I say “relaxed” but it’s more like “bored out of my skull”. Much as I was glad I could watch over my brother in some form, simply observing him sitting - even if it was sitting on a large bronze flying dragon - got dull fast. Especially when this had been going on for SIX. WEEKS.

Slowly, Alya pulled off her wing covers.
The feathers of her small, gray wings stuck out at odd angles, many hanging lifelessly, dull and uncared for. The wings themselves appeared to be in good shape - at least, nothing appeared to be obviously wrong with the shape or musculature of them - but the state of the feathers was concerning, to say the least.
----In a universe where people's wings change to reflect their mental states, Nino is concerned about why Alya is suddenly so adamant on keeping hers hidden.

I tried to keep my face impassive as my little brother hurtled through the air.
It did not pay to show weakness while in the company of other gods. Passion, yes- but not weakness. That’s why Father had called a council meeting, after all. To show us Apollo’s trials, everything my twin would have to suffer through for having dared to oppose him. It was his way of reinforcing his iron grip on us, of showing he still had power, after the debacles and humiliation from the Second Titan War and the Second Giants War - particularly the latter, as Zeus did more to hinder the efforts to combat Gaea than to help. If we’d all done what he’d commanded, we’d be destroyed by now.
Zeus would never admit to that. Not out loud. But he knows we’re all thinking it.
So naturally, my little brother is his scapegoat.

Alya woke up gasping. Fumbling blindly for the light switch, she felt along the wall of her room until she finally found it, flicking the switch.
As light flooded the room, she looked down at her hands.
They were intact.
She let out a deep breath. Of course they were. She wouldn’t have been able to turn on the light otherwise.
Everything was fine. She’d gotten the Lucky Charm up in time, fended off Chat, and persuaded him she was one of the good guys. Heck, they’d even had fun together near the end, posing and joking together during the museum fight! Things worked out in the end.
So why were her hands still shaking?
-------In the aftermath of Hack-san, Alya has nightmares of Chat Noir Cataclysming her. She, Ladybug, and Chat Noir meet up to talk things out in an effort to address her trauma, figure out ways to cut down on the risk of something similar happening again, and to start healing from the unintentional hurt.

Masaya gripped Ichigo’s hand firmly, trying to suppress a blush. Going to the zoo had been his idea - it’d been one of their first dates after all, and the one that’d convinced him he needed to put a bell on his cat. That he never wanted to lose her again.

Carefully, I picked out Apollo’s string. It glowed vibrantly, as the strings of all divine beings do. Mine most brilliantly of all, of course, though Apollo’s always seemed to be trying to outshine it. I firmly grasped hold of it, matching its own glow with my own. Slowly, I exerted my will, my power, pressing my radiance against the manifestation of Apollo’s, slowly increasing my light until it overpowered his.
Yet, it resisted me, its glow strengthening, refusing to surrender. I grit my teeth. “I am Zeus, King of the Gods, and your father. Submit to me.”
-----Zeus tries to turn Apollo into a mortal. It does not go as well as he expected.
That only incenses him further.

A sharp pain cut through her brain. She cradled her head, groaning. “You are here, you are an akuma, and you will fight when I call upon you. That is all you need to know,” the voice growled.
She grit her teeth. She hated this guy already.
----------Permanently Akumatized AU. Instead of being freed after an akuma battle, the akumas are transported to a warehouse to await Hawkmoth's call again. They have amnesia, not remembering who they were, or even that they WERE someone else before, often. They also can't leave the warehouse without the akuma in their heads, without Hawkmoth's compulsions forcing them back inside, or resist battling the heroes for long before, again, the compulsions force them into it.
Unfortunately for Hawkmoth, Lady Wifi isn't going to meekly accept orders.

These are unforgivable sins for a god. That’s what Apollo and all of his divine siblings have been taught. That’s what they’ve all, in time, learned to believe. Good people don’t survive on Olympus.
And Apollo is, above all, a survivor.
So Apollo doesn’t want to believe he’s a good person.
This is incredibly uncharacteristic of me, he makes sure to specify every time he does something kind, every time he finds himself unable to hide his shame or guilt or doubt, to hide how much he cares, well past the point where we start realizing that it is, in fact, perfectly characteristic of him.
