Summary
Stark hides the fact that he’s sick, not wanting to slow the group down. Despite obvious signs—fatigue, a rough cough, and dizziness—he insists he’s fine until he nearly collapses. Fern, furious and worried, forces him to rest, while Sein steps in with soup and sarcasm, and Frieren offers quiet care. As the fever worsens, Stark drifts in and out of fever dreams, haunted by fears of being left behind or disappointing those around him. Through it all, his friends stay by his side, reminding him—sometimes gently, sometimes bluntly—that he’s not alone. When he finally recovers, wrapped in warmth and a ridiculous wolf hat Fern made, Stark realizes that being cared for isn’t weakness—it’s proof that he belongs.

“I’m sorry, I just- I can’t tell Katara. Not yet.”
“Right. She hates me,” Zuko sighed.
“She doesn’t hate you, she just- she doesn’t see you the way I do,” he said, brushing a strand of hair from Zuko’s eyes.
Or, Sokka and Zuko try to hide their relationship and Katara finds out anyway.
