Maddie would have never assumed this to be Phantom's hidy hole. Maddie and Jack knew he stayed somewhere, considering they've never managed to capture the ghost, or ever return to the Ghost Zone.
The wood beneath her boots was soft and weak. There were no decorations, mementos, or stolen Fenton weaponry. Maddie suspected something afoot.
