She froze. Something cold and searing hot washing over her neck. She turned, and the heat seemed to intensify, flaring up in her chest.
Standing before her, jacket torn and disheveled, parts of his suit slightly charred, and the weapon slung across his shoulders. He looked at her, eyes amused in stark contrast to the blood dripping out of his split lip.
