Crimson flickered in his vision like the dying sparks of a firework, bright against the black of night, far more fleeting than the seconds that whizzed by. All it took was a turn of the head to follow another spattering of sparks, and he was thrown right off his feet and onto his face.
He fell like a graceless lump, the mask digging into his face and crushing his nose. Driven by adrenaline and a fair amount of spite, Valko immediately pushed off the ground, shaking his head to clear it, and the stench was instantly in his face. Eyes blew wide in refreshed alarm, his heart and body seizing for a fraction of a second as he beheld a man standing not even five feet from him. Clad in black, flecked with red, hands in pockets, and the blood moon, radiant, in his right eye.
In which Valko has a run-in with an incubus, one he thinks he regrets and one that Sylus certainly doesn't.

Summary
When the Irminsul was burned, the Exalted Master of the Heretical Path did not perish, like all of Teyvat believed.
The Aeon Nous, the Erudition, had gazed upon the burning Heretic and claimed him as THEIR own: an Emanator of Erudition.
And so, the fragment of his soul stored in the Irminsul broke free from Teyvat, and just so happens to be recovered by the 81st Member of the Genius Society.

This is my first fanfiction on this site. I don't know why I made this, I just got really motivated in writing for some reason. I think I just used up all of my writing juice for the year T-T.
