Summary
In another timeline, Shane and Ilya hook up in Room 1410, Ilya slips out unnoticed, and they spend the next seven years trapped in the situationship from hell we all know and love.
In this one, Yuna Hollander walks in just as Ilya goes to leave and—through the combined power of misunderstanding, miscommunication, and a frankly alarming lack of follow-up—Shane and Ilya start dating in 2010.
Given the chance to grow up with rather than against each other, Shane and Ilya build a life thats steadier, safer, and far less frightening than their canon. Their rivalry fizzles before it ever has the chance to fully ignite, replaced by hockey’s most beloved “bromance", and in 2015, they find the courage to do the one thing their canon counterparts never got to do: tell the NHL and the world.
There is just one problem: No one believes them.
OR: Despite Shane and Ilya being out for two years, Scott Hunter is still considered the first openly gay player in the NHL, much to Ilya’s indignation.

Summary
It's the 2017-2018 season, and Shane has decided to come out to his team. What he expects is acceptance or at least respect. What he gets instead is a team adamant at pushing him out.
When all their plans are crumbling, can Shane and Ilya weather the storm with a relationship that is, for all intents and purposes, still new? Or will they be strong enough to hold each other up when everything else is falling apart?
When the plan crumbles, all they can do is adjust accordingly.

Summary
MLH rules stated arena magic could allow for a delay of game, but it had to be played within 24 hours or the home team forfeited the game. The idea was that teams couldn't encourage the arena to delay games for player advantage. No one expected TD Garden to shut down all operations in the middle of a game. No one expected a player to die on the ice.
