Summary
Emma must see that hurt, too, because her gaze falters. “Does she love you?” she asks Regina, as though love is something that they can ever experience. As though there is space for love in a life that has been negotiated away, in a sister resting beside her or a soaring ride on a dragon’s back. In a girl who has gotten bruised and bloodied for her, over and over again, only so that Regina might feel a little less powerless.
In Rumplestiltskin's castle, powerful girls are traded into his service and trained to be assassins and warriors and spies. Regina is the best of them all– until a new girl with unimaginable power is brought in, defiant and afraid and insistent that she's a kidnapped princess.

Summary
Unbound for a second, Beatrice lifts her hand back up. There’s no dirt, no excuse, but she palms Ava’s face again, just to feel it, just for that special close lipped smile that graces Ava’s face again, just for her to sigh.
She removes it quickly—not quickly enough, too quickly—catching Ava’s eyes when they open again.
“Now,” Beatrice says, voice soft and serious. “Let’s try again.”
Ava nods, the halo glows, her feet leave the ground, and she doubles her time.
—
Beatrice realizes that her touch helps Ava with her training, and, well, things escalate.

Summary
Lilith was her best friend.
Her sister.
"I'll let you choose where to eat as long as you don't bring up your hot British neighbour again."
Oh, how she hated her.
"I haven't even mentioned her that much!"
"Her eyes were so intense, Lilith." Lilith began in a mocking tone. "The leather jacket she wore was so fitting Lilith. Her neck was so-"
"Oh my god stop!" Ava slapped the button for the elevator. "I do not sound like that."

Summary
She felt Ava smile against her lips, arms coming up to wrap around Beatrice's neck.
"I love taking pictures, but it'll never compare to the feeling of kissing you."
"I'm touched."
"You should be. You're my favourite person for a reason."
It didn't matter how many times they said 'I love you', how many times they showed each other how important they were to each other, it never failed to make Beatrice's heart warm.

Summary
Ava slaps the flyer down on the bar and immediately winces at the shock that ricochets up into her arm. “They’re having a New Years Eve carnival.”
Bea looks up from her clipboard and smoothly slides her pen behind her ear. A single strand of hair drops across her face. She doesn’t bother pushing it back. “Hans mentioned it.”
Her eyes go wide. “You knew? And you didn’t say anything?” Ava sighs dramatically and the paper crinkles under her palm. “We have to go."

Summary
It is a truth (almost) universally acknowledged that a single lesbian must be in want of a girlfriend.
But senior Emma Swan, Storybrooke University’s star forward, most definitely does not envision Regina Mills for the job. Daughter of the university president, Regina is a rich horse girl, a snob, and generally everything Emma doesn’t want in a girlfriend.
Or so she assumes.

They'd been fighting again. Hope and Landon. She was sure of it. Her eyes had been puffy, her nose red when she knocked on Josie's door an hour ago. She had wasted no time jumping into the brunette's arms, wasted no time peppering kisses all the way down her neck, all the way down to her chest. That only ever happened when she'd been fighting with Landon. It had been like that for a few months now.
