Months after Valjean pulls Javert from the Pont au Change, they both find themselves without purpose. Valjean becomes hopeless without Cosette to care for. Meanwhile, Javert's growing doubt about his place in the police force leaves him aimless. But Javert and Valjean's lives have always been irreversibly intertwined. As they learn what it means to change and be changed, they may find that their lives are meant to intertwine in a way neither of them ever expected.
In case anyone needed another post-Seine Valvert slow burn ;)

Everything Valjean had experienced with the other man had been remarkable—breathtaking—irrevocably and unquestionably altering, on every level—both men changed and remade by love and desire, to give it unto another and to experience it reciprocated in kind.
That, Valjean thought, had already been everything; to share his hearth and his heart and his bed was already infinitely more than Valjean had ever dreamed of. To have Javert as a companion and confidant at all was a blessing. To actually share a life with him was sacrosanct.

Jean Valjean is more than happy to have Cosette and her young husband spend the holidays at his house, but he had not anticipated the problems posed by such thin walls and Marius' fondness for, ah, roleplaying. Fortunately Javert is more than willing to aid him in giving the newlyweds a taste of their own medicine.
Written for the kinkmeme: Javert/Valjean, Cosette/Marius. Thin walls lead to one pairing overhearing the others sexytime roleplaying, who then decide to reciprocate in an attempt to scar the other for life.

It did not matter, nor did it mean anything, what Javert thought of for the sake of swiftly obtaining his release. Any wild thought could be appealing when blood heated and raged beneath skin, when a firm hand reached for tender flesh. It was no more significant than an errant dream. It had no bearing on anything Javert would usually think about, anything Javert would usually want.
It meant nothing.

In Montreuil sur Mer, it happens to be that the mayor is a vampire. It’s a fairly well-kept secret amongst city officials so long as the mayor chooses to uphold his virtuous lifestyle and resist the urge to feed on his constituents…or at least not the unwilling.
When the mayor finds himself in desperate need of a volunteer, Javert becomes the willing.
