Raccoon City screams out its rage with every breath and smile of the ones it couldn’t take down with it.
“You know what’ll make me happy? Something like this.”
“I think normal suits us.”
Every moment of the dead city’s suffering gives the drive to go on. They’re the survivors that step into the next sunrise with a smile, a love and the purpose to protect. And the sheer fucking instinct to scorch the hell out of anything threatening that.
“Leon, I knocked a guy’s freaking tooth out to defend your honor. Trust me, I’m kinda getting it now.”
Because Raccoon City lost.
“Thanks for the dance, Claire.”
“Why do you really call me chipmunk?”
Because they’ll never forget.

“How… how do you seem so familiar?” Leon asks suddenly, easy smile giving way to something more intense, shaking his head. “It’s like every time I see you I feel like I’m remembering you more and more.”
Claire feels it too, like she’s been looking to get him to laugh a particular way, predicting his expressions seconds before they cross his face.
He looks uncomfortable, “Sorry, that was such a corny thing to say.”
“No, me too.” She reassures, “like we used to be friends or something. But I’m pretty sure I’d remember you.” Leon cracks a smile when she winks at him again.
