Summary
The live broadcast has taken over everything—news channels, livestreams, doctor’s offices, the muted TVs bolted into corners of cafés and airports.
The same feed repeats everywhere: the launch of the shuttle to the Hail Mary, Earth’s last desperate hope. Footage of the launch preparations alternate with prerecorded statements from world leaders, a scrolling bar of names and credentials sliding across the bottom of the screen. The astronauts’ portraits are displayed in sequence, their faces and names proudly displayed, honoring those brave ones willing to give their lives for the future of Earth.

It is said by some that in Valinor, deep in the halls of Mandos among the deep dark places, are miles and miles of tapestries. The lives of the Eldar, inscribed in colored threads—their pasts, their presents, their futures. "Let him go!" Nightwing snarls through the com, voice raw and strained. Jason laughs. The modulator of his helmet crackles, and the sound of his laughter echoes cold and cruel. "Are you sure you want me to do that?"
During an unplanned and unsupervised encounter with the Red Hood, Tim takes an (also unplanned) dive off the side of a building. As Tim's life hangs by a thread, Red Hood taunts Batman and Nightwing, threatening to drop him. But does he really mean it? Because for someone threatening to let go, Jason's grip is awfully tight.

Summary
It takes Tim three weeks to realize that he’s been exposed to something. His reactions have been off since that night at the harbour when Dick almost got thrown in the river and Bruce shoved Tim to one side to get to Dick and Tim fell face forward into a weird pile of grey dust and choked on it. The dust didn’t have any immediate effects, nothing obvious. It just made him gasp and cough and made his eyes burn under the cowl for a few seconds. Then he needed to check on Dick and then they got back to the Cave and he checked on Dick again and then Dick was saying something about a movie night and Tim found himself smiling and then he stayed over for dinner and the movie and thought nothing of it. It’s only now, three weeks later, that he wakes up in his room in the Manor and thinks wait, what? It’s only now, now that he’s flooded with sudden panic, that he realizes that he hasn’t felt anything resembling panic for three full weeks.

The "Pit Rage" isn’t actually a side effect of Jason’s dip in the Lazarus Pit. Or… not entirely. It’s a tool that Ra’s carefully developed before deploying him to targeted effect against Batman. Unfortunately, its intended results wore off too quickly, once away from his influence. This time, he plans to get it right.

Summary
The Bats were not actually invulnerable, no matter how hard they worked to give that impression.
Jim Gordon learned that early, back when Batman was a new phenomenon in Gotham. When he was very much alone, short on allies, hated and feared by most of the police force with nearly as much intensity as the criminals on the streets.
Years later, it seems Red Hood is determined to prove that whatever his dad can do, he can do better. Or worse, where injuries are concerned.
(Part one: Gordon helps an injured first-year Batman. Part two: Gordon intervenes when an injured Red Hood is caught in a bad situation. Part of that intervention involves calling his dad.)
