The new Ministry had fully exonerated Severus Snape for what he had done during the war and further awarded him with the Order of Merlin, First Class for his extraordinary work as a spy. It wasn't a popular move with the public, however, and Hermione Granger defended him to anyone who would listen, but even The Prophet grew weary of her advocacy. But after reading a magazine specializing in romance stories, she sees an opportunity to defend Professor Snape once more by way of a tale about the recent war featuring a character very much like the irascible and unsociable potions professor. Adopting a pseudonym to hide her identity, she carefully weaves the people she knows into the plot through subsidiary roles. When the story takes off - especially with the young women of Hogwarts - it disrupts the school in a variety of ways, but no one is more upset, infuriated, or seriously hacked-off by it all than the model for the protagonist, and when he finds out who the author is, he plans to eviscerate them. But as it progresses, the story becomes far more than a simple matter of rehabilitation for the two people most closely touched by the tale.

Summary
Sandor makes his way North with the Brotherhood Without Banners until they are separated at the Twins. He makes his way to Winterfell only to be informed that Sansa has left for the Eyrie.
Sansa feeling out of place and without control of Winterfell becomes melancholy. After an attempt is made on her life she leaves with sworn knight Brienne of Tarth to the Eyrie in hopes to be protected by the knights of the Vale as promised by Petyr Baelish and Lord Robert of the Vale.
Sandor stays and swears fealty to Winterfell. Jon receives a suspicious letter from his sister Sansa and believes it a forgery. He charges Sandor to retrieve her from the Vale, unharmed. Sandor Clegane with Podrick Payne and Tormund Giantsbane ride for the Vale to retrieve the Lady of Winterfell, Sansa Stark.

The truth of the matter is he cannot keep a secretary to save his life. His brusque demeanor, scarred face, and no-bullshit attitude sends them running for the door. Sansa Stark's resume lands on his desk one day and, at his wit's end, Sandor decides to give her a shot.
Tensions reach a fever pitch as these two maneuver around misunderstandings, mutual denial of a growing attraction, a professional working dynamic which becomes increasingly harder to manage, and pre-existing romantic relationships that only complicate matters further.
