Summary
Shane impulsively makes a bet with Rose: if he can date a guy for a month longer than his customary one date followed by ghosting them forever, he gets $200; if he can’t, he agrees to let her set him up until he finally finds love. But he has no intention of playing it straight, so the plan—as he conspiratorially tells his best friend Ilya—is to fake date someone and split the money.
Ilya thinks this is a terrific idea and fully expects Shane to ask him to be his fake boyfriend… except he doesn’t. And Ilya can’t figure out why. Why didn’t Shane choose him, when they both know how effortless it would be to pretend with how close they already are, not to mention how all their friends would instantly believe it?
