Summary
There were young flowers rooted around the grave, still fresh and colorful on the fancy stone. A white and golden marble between dull gray tombs, ephemeral petals between sturdy weeds. It reminded him of his love. The very same love that stood next to him, staring down at the very same grave with eyes that said he had seen enough.
It had been about a day since Luca and Edgar had escaped from the nightmare that trapped them ; a rotting manor luring its prisoners with wicked lies. The horrors they had seen, he hoped he would never see them again, knowing well too good it would stay engraved in his mind. They had entered the manor's insides hoping for a new beginning, and were thrown out of it with nothing but themselves.
Despite all of this, Luca was grateful for living through this hell. Having Edgar standing by his side was worth even the worst nightmares. As long as he was with him, Luca would be fine, at least that's what he wanted to believe. He knew life wasn't so simple, but optimism wouldn't hurt from time to time, right? -

Will watches in more fascination than horror as they slowly float down to the sink.
