Summary
When you decide to pursue your childhood dream of running an arcade, the developing monster city at the top of Mount Ebott seems like an obvious choice to set up shop. The community is growing quickly, you'd have very little competition, and commercial renting space is dirt cheap.
The only problem is you've never run a business by yourself before, and you're not very good with numbers. When you find a monster accountant advertising his services online, you jump at the chance to work with him.
The skeleton seems formal, professional, and detached, which is just fine by you. Who needs the distractions of friendships and relationships when you've got a business to run?

Luckily, an old friend from high school heard about what had happened to your house and was quick to lend a helping hand! The two of you were never that close, so you were a little surprised at how quickly she jumped at the opportunity, but you were still grateful nonetheless.
Sure, it was a little strange how willing she was to let you move in despite the fact that you hadn’t talked in years..
But, hey, you weren’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
And besides, what’s the worst thing that could happen?

Summary
Years ago, but not many, the Angel Island Incident left the city of San Francisco devastated in a wave of superpowered violence. In response, a new law enforcement unit was created to suppress all superhero activity in the city as well as the rest of the Bay Area by any means necessary.
Years later, but also not too many, new supervillains begin to carve out new territory in a Bay Area cleansed of superheroes to stop them. Standing between them and the SCU are an unlikely set of individuals whose imperfections could make them the superheroes the city needs.
Homestuck Superhero AU partially based on Real Men Wear Tights by PanicIsMyRain, Bananaramses and Sergeant Meow.

Summary
Fighting fire with fire is okay in theory but Detective-Summoner Dave L. Strider figures trying to summon corporeal demons to the mortal plane to fight other demons is likely to backfire spectacularly. Sadly for him his inner Knight gets the vapors at the thought of letting anyone else play guinea pig.
Yup, he is totally hogging the demon. What could go wrong? (Oh no, Dave, why did you have to think that.)
