Rui barely spared him a glance before turning away, his voice flat. “I don’t know any more than you do. Leave me alone.”
Tsukasa blinked, taken aback by the cold response. His smile faltered, and he stood awkwardly, unsure of how to respond. Rui had already walked away, disappearing into the shadows of the dimly lit hallway.
“Well, that could’ve gone better…” Tsukasa thought with a sigh. But even though Rui had brushed him off, Tsukasa’s curiosity only deepened. Something about Rui told him that he was important, maybe even vital to figuring out the truth behind this nightmare.
