Summary
Sasuke has joined the Akatsuki and attacked Killer B. Konoha has decided what must happen next.
Sakura knows what Naruto will do if he finds out, so she lies: a fake confession in the snow, meant to make him let go of his promise. It doesn't go the way she planned (nor the way Kishimoto planned it, for that matter).
A canon divergence from the Five Kage Summit onward, but the war is only where it begins. What follows is Team 7 navigating grief, politics, truths a village would rather bury, promises that extend beyond Konoha's walls... without losing each other.
Characters kept as close to canon as the divergence allows. In tone, think the second half of the manga: big questions, real consequences, but also found family, terrible jokes at the worst possible moments, and the stubborn belief that bonds are worth fighting for.
