Summary
Chloe didn’t move, but the muscle in her jaw twitched. The dial felt heavy in her hand, a cold, metallic anchor tethering her to a choice she couldn’t undo once made.
“The day you held your sword against my throat... that was the moment I knew,” Red whispered, her voice barely audible over the roaring in her ears. She searched Chloe’s eyes, her gaze tracing every line of tension in her face. “Everyone else looked at me and only saw the next Queen of Hearts. They saw a threat, a villain, a monster in training. But you didn’t run from me. You looked past the crown, past the anger, and you just saw me. That’s why I love you, Chloe Charming. You spend so much time looking for the good in the rest of the world, but you never see it in yourself. But we can figure it out. We can figure it out together.”
Chloe’s eyes finally ripped away from Red, snapping to meet Max’s wide eyes. For a fraction of a second, the manic certainty in her expression wavered, replaced by the crushing weight of everything they had lost to get here. Her thumb remained on the dial, but it wasn't pressing down anymore. It was shaking.

Summary
She’s blinded, seeing threes and fours of her surroundings. Checkerboards dancing in flashing colors. She reaches for Ella but can not find her, grips her head instead to make sense of the madness.
Wonderland was wild, never disorienting. Never terrifying.
Hatters voice crackles ominously, taunting her and laughing at her discomfort. She was always too forgiving. Always too nice.
Something shoves her and she stumbles, only to get pushed again from the front. Tangles of bushes and vines scrape past her arms, further knocking her off balance.
“What’s wrong Bridget?” Maddox mocks, his voice twisting to something melodic, more feminine, “Feeling all alone?”

Summary
Red is just trying to make sense of the scene playing before her.
The Cendrillon princess, bloodslicked sword in hand. It drips lazily from the tip, dark against the grass. Her cerulean curls are darkened into an almost midnight kind of blue, matted at the ends, and when she lifts her head, her gaze lands on Red.
Her breath catches. “…Chloe?”
There's something in the knight's eyes- a rage that is so…not Chloe.
