“Ten minutes,” Akiko says sternly, slurring a bit at the end. Ozaki has one arm around her waist, in a way that’s both flirtatious and clearly for stability—Akiko definitely thinks she’s standing on her own, though. Ozaki meets Ranpo’s amused grin with one of her own while Akiko continues on, oblivious, “Ten. If you’re not back by then, we’re leaving without you, Ranpo.”
(In which Edogawa Ranpo is not at risk of ruining his relationship with his best friend. He's not.)

Summary
The route Ryuunosuke takes is familiar, by now. Weaving through the streets and alleyways, he turns the extra corners mainly on instinct—no one would be following him at this time of day, but shaking off twenty-three years of habit doesn’t come easy. Though, he supposes he can never be too careful. There have been reports of minor skirmishes on the docks recently, some minor group of criminals trying to get a foot in the door the most destructive way possible. He would take care of them himself, but apparently they’re not quite high enough of a priority on the Boss’ list to send him or any of the other executives to go deal with.
