Brushing by the seagrass in the meadow of his pod’s area, Kaidou stopped himself short of crashing down face-first into the sand. After a few good huffs out of his gills— lining the side of his neck— the young merrow let his body sink to the bottom. He lay there like a kid looking up at the stars as his ruby eyes glimmered with excitement.

Kaidou looks like the kind of kid who pretends to hide superpowers or a secret identity to seem cool and mysterious but really he’s just terrible at hiding that he’s a vampire. He can’t lie to save his life. That and he isn’t very good at socializing, he gets laughed at a lot, which causes him to internally grumble about how he’s more powerful than them and could easily kill them. Well, it oftens comes out externally too, but no one takes him seriously. His soft looks and awkwardness are what saves him from raising any suspicion. He’s not the kind of guy who would make people believe in vampires, or in anything really.*Rated as Explicit because there will be smut later in the story, I'll leave a note if you want to skip it.
