So would you please tell the court what you are saying to the common people with this.” He dropped the packet on the witness stand, “And how is that message reflected here? Please be specific, if you will.” Xie Lian pinned him in place with a burning stare, a predatory fake smile. Not plastic, but steel. Mirror-polished and reflecting back every limp nerve in the staffer’s slackened face.
“I’ll make it even easier for you. Simply explain this legislation to me in such terms that even a child would understand its benefit." He folded his arms, "I'll wait."
Xie Lian, a disbarred district attorney, now an overworked legal aide, gets himself into deeper trouble with each client he helps. After being offered reinstatement, then landing in the hospital, he finds himself paired with a strikingly-attractive and oddly-dedicated bodyguard.

Summary
