Very few omegas were still around, and even rarer for an alpha to be found. Thus, the few families who still had the means to have the line of alpha and omega, protect their omega at all costs, sometimes they even caged them--figuratively--at home, so that no one could attack them.
Sasuke thought it was absurd. He was an omega, and he got by well in life. Yes, he encountered several stupid people when he unexpectedly got his heat in school, but you know what? He karate-kicked them and punched them in the face. That was how strong he was.
