Shadow Milk lolled his head to the side with sluggish movement, like a doll with nothing to keep his head upright. "Lessen their worries, huh? Don't you mean the opposite? Have you seen me?"
"I'm seeing you right now." Pure Vanilla tilted his head the same way, letting some strands of his hair fall over his face―long pieces that were tucked behind his ear afterwards. "Floating on my balcony. Sulking―"
Or in the middle of trying to be something else other than the Beast of Deceit, Shadow Milk Cookie unfortunately fell in love with the one person he shouldn't.

Summary
The recipient must stay entertained as they anticipate the upcoming climax. And just when they'd start to think the story was about to get boring – when you'd think the (handsome) king in red robes was about to get his happy ending… with a flick of the quill, he's ten feet deep into the worst situation you could possibly imagine. And just like that, you're paying attention again – will he find a way out? Or was this really the end this time?
How stupid is that? Of course he was going to find a way out, he always did. Do you still truly believe that the hundredth time will be any different, just because it's an even three-digit number? He was practically immortal.
Shadow Milk wasn't a fool – he noticed eventually. He was the main character, therefore he was immortal. You can't kill off the main character without making the story come to an end – at least not in this case.
Or...
After realizing his own importance in the story, Shadow Milk rebels. The author doesn't have control over his character anymore, therefore gets mad and attempts to regain control over him by sending him a beautiful faerie prince, which she could use to lure him back into the tale.

Summary
Being labeled as a ‘Beast’ was very accurate when it came to the fallen Virtues in one way or another. Shadow Milk found enjoyment in sowing chaos and deceit to all who would listen, Burning Spice was known for his short fuse and overly destructive nature when he got ‘bored’, Silent Salt had the jam of hundreds on his hands and wasn’t afraid to add to it if he deemed it necessary, Mystic Flour cared not for the ‘frivolous’ wants of cookies and instead found the only true way to reach peace was to return to flour, and Eternal Sugar refused to allow anyone to leave her Garden of Delights for any reason and would use whatever means she deemed necessary to keep her ‘darling cookies’ with her and happy.
This isn’t wrong, but it’s truly only the surface of the Beasts, the part they let -and want- others to see. A part of them that, to them, is a way to keep them safe from the hurt. A mask. A coping mechanism. A way to keep others away from the truth they all would rather ignore. Even themselves.
Though, sometimes, they just need to take a moment to be themselves and not the beasts others see them as, to not be weighed down by expectations and reputations they never asked for to begin with.Series

"I believe that was enough," the blond uttered, catching the shorter by their arm. "You need to rest."
"If you leave, I won't. Lay with me."
"No."
Fount frowned. "I don't bite."
"I do," he hissed. "Don't push it."
The star pushed it. Their hands shifted to clasp on the hermit's cheek, earning a disgruntled groan. Fount wasn't shoved away, at least, though he pulled on the other, wanting to decrease the distance.
"But you wouldn't bite me."
"Oh," Truthless rolled his eyes. He didn't resist. "I'd devour you. Is that worse?"

A desolate land of death and decay is greeted by the glow of a fallen star - Truthless Recluse does not know how to deal with the recognition that they spark within him. Can their light be what washes away his sorrows, or will it be the fire that draws him in like a moth?
