It took him longer than it should have to realize he wasn’t breathing. His mind seemed to have shut down all functions in order to focus on trying to identify the exact shade of blue in the eyes of the man in front of him. Luckily, the other man seemed to be just as surprised, standing with his mouth hanging slightly open as he looked at Nico, which gave Nico enough time to force his lungs to start functioning again and pull his normal customer service smile back onto his face before properly beginning this interaction.
