In the end, the whole affair is a bit anticlimactic. Nie Huaisang, second son of Qinghe Nie, goes to his knees before another clan’s ancestors and rises up as Nie Huaisang, Chief Consort of Sandu Shengshou, Leader of the Yunmeng Jiang. He isn’t quite sure what he’d been expecting when he decided to marry a near stranger for the sake of political intrigue, but it certainly hadn’t been whatever this is.

Summary
When Jin Zixuan came to Lan Wangji asking for help, he should have asked questions. He should have known that it wasn't going to be a simple trip into the countryside. But he didn't, so here he was stuck in a country village until Jin Zixuan could win back the heart of Jiang Yanli. A feat that might be easier if he didn't trip over his own two feet everytime he tried to talk to her. Lan Wangji supposed that was why Jin Zixuan brought himself and MianMian for support in his endvour. MianMian for her easy sociable nature, and Lan Wangji for his extraordinary empathic abilities as guide. It should have been an easy task, if it wasn't for the surprise return of the Jiang's ward Wei Wuxian. His constant chaparoning of Jiang Yanli was more akin to being guard dog, and Lan Wangji has to go head to head with him if he hopes to return to his library before the spring is over.
Except Wei Wuxian isn't what he seems, and the pull Lan Wangji feels for him is unlike anything he's ever felt.Bookmarked by LtLJ

It is also where Wei Wuxian is thrown and left to die by the people he trusted and considered family.
Or,
Yu Ziyuan snaps one afternoon and decides murder would solve all of her problems...and unfortunately for Wei Wuxian, he is all of them.
