Dean didn't get close to people. He was at his most comfortable being quiet, avoidant, everything Arda wasn't. Dean thought he loved Arda so much he could change, but when he was hit with the realization that their relationship couldn't stay stagnant, couldn't be as simple and unserious as it was the first week, he ran.

Summary
The crisis is over, in the last 20 seconds Phoebe saves the both of them from blowing up after un-powering the self destruct sequence. But now she can’t help wondering why Max would build one in the first place? Or at least, one that doesn’t allow him to escape and forces him to go down with whoever the target may have been.
(Basically, there’s lots of episodes where it seems that Max is passively suicidal, so I create even MORE situations like that by changing cannon episodes a tad. it follows the timeline since season 1 episode 2 and so forth.)

"Yeah." Yuwen glances at her, then back at the street in front of them. He takes another bite of his granola bar.

But, Kai drags that body in her eyes back up, and a grin buries it—covers the emptiness with a sickening finality. For some reason—without a meaning or a name—Taylor doesn’t like that; the avoidance and the departure. She wants to know what it means.

“Yeah, I know what coach said,” Kai tells her, sighing as she pushes herself further up the bench. “But, he doesn’t actually mean that.” She turns her head. “Right, Laurie?”
Laurie jumps, the bottle in her hands becoming loose in her grip. “W…what?” She stares, then; “Oh, uh—I don’t know? I mean…maybe? Dad’s pretty uh…like, he’s kinda strict when it comes to punctuality and—and stuff…”
“Yeah,” Kai says, her expression falling at Laurie’s response. “But, he wouldn’t actually kick Yuwen off the team, right?”
