But a routine expedition turns into a nightmare when the team discovers an illegal mining operation on the ocean floor.

Jackie opened the door, frowning. The girl standing there had messy brown hair, sharp blue eyes, and a smile that Jackie couldn’t shake the feeling she’d seen before.
"Hi, Jackie," the girl said, her voice bright and cheerful. "My name is Callie Sadecki. I’m Shauna Shipman’s daughter."

Summary
Red Hearts, an elite rescue diver, is forced to return to her old job to save her ex-girlfriend, Hazel, and her team from the depths of the ocean, where a prehistoric beast has risen to the surface.
At first, Red is scorned by some of the crew, especially by Morgie, who accuses her of being "crazy" because of her past. However, their judgment and ideas change when everything Red had said turns out to be true.
Now, Red must find a way to confront the megalodon alongside the researchers from the Mana One station, who unwittingly created an escape route for the creature from its habitat. In the process, she feels an irresistible attraction to the brilliant oceanographer, Chloe Charming. Together, they embark on a mission to destroy the sea monster, developing an undeniable chemistry that goes beyond friendship.
To complicate matters further, Red also becomes fond of Chloe's adorable daughter, little Ella.
This story is inspired by the 2018 film The Meg.

“Love you Boo.”
Chloe froze the minute those whispered, slurred words reached her own ears. She stared down at her girlfriend with wide eyes and realized that she was still asleep, but in her slumber…Red had finally said the words that while fully awake, she had been trying to say for weeks.
Tears began to leak from her eyes. Leaning down, Chloe brushed her lips against Red’s forehead and pressed a soft kiss to her exposed skin, causing the Heir of Wonderland to sigh in contentment in her sleep.
“I love you too Rebel, so so much.” Chloe whispered, voice breaking as she stared down at her sleeping girlfriend with nothing but adoration in her gaze.

After the events in Wonderland, Red and Chloe are back in Auradon Prep to continue their school year. Unfortunately, sixteen years of childhood trauma doesn’t just go away with a snap of a finger.
Luckily for Red, Chloe is right by her side through it all and the youngest Charming will do anything to make her Rebel feel safe.
