    Bokuto leads them back, one hand already numb in Kuroo’s grip the other swatting behind him blindly at the wall for direction. What his hand meets isn’t the cool and sturdy drywall—it’s soft. Slightly firm but he doesn’t prod enough to figure out what he grabbed before he lets out a piercing scream. Kuroo joins, their voices striking a sickly shrill chord of terror. Whatever it was behind Bokuto yelped back, its body, once tight in Bokuto’s grasp was now out of reach. They’re both yelling back and forth at each other, pitching at an ungodly volume for this time of day as tensions reach unprecedented levels and fear bleeds out of their shot and ragged vocal cords. There’s a thump, an angry groan that’s bordering on a growl before a voice yells,
    “IT IS FOUR IN THE GODDAMN MORNING, WHAT ARE YOU TWO FUCKING DOING!?”

    “TSUKKI?!” Both Kuroo and Bokuto shout, standing up to their full height and staring wide-eyed and distraught at the blond man on the ground in his university crewneck and plaid pyjama pants.

    Or: Bokuto and Kuroo swear their house is haunted. Tsukishima thinks they're delusional. Yamaguchi is the medium that has to deal with more than just a few spirits that can't move on.

The waves die down, everything goes quiet, and it seems like the world is suspended in time. It’s the calm before the storm — or so the sailors say — and it’s something Iwaizumi has experienced many times.

    As he blows the candles out and downs the rest of his drink, he finds himself hoping that whatever storm is coming is, at the very least, an interesting one.

    Or: a tour guide and a pirate captain walk into a bar surprise hostage situation?
