Red looks at them so intensely. It feels violating, somehow. Red shouldn't still be able to look at them that way. One time, that was acceptable. Here and now, it's power they don't really deserve at all.
"Things would be so much easier if you," Red sighs, filling the space, "if you let go, huh? But you're not going to." There's a silence there, a really long one. "I—I know you're mad at me."
"More than mad," Purple says, shoving their visor into their pillow as if that would quell the ache. "Still too proud to to owe me a damn apology."
"I don't hate you," Red blurts out. "I could never hate you."
"That's not an apology."
Or, Purple is sick. Red just happens to be there. (Why?)

Purple has been turned into the AI who runs the Skeld. On top of trying to find a way out of their predicament, they have to deal with Red being Captain. Oh, and also the murders.
Ironically enough, no ai was used to write this fic.
