Summary
Eleven months ago, the Elderbrain was defeated. Five months ago, Wyll and Karlach had their first respite from Avernus. Today, they return. The first in a series that explores Wyll and Karlach's relationship, and their relationships with others, including Wyll's father, and the looming possibility of him joining the Council of Four as a Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate.

Karlach laughed. “I’m serious, what are we going to-“He silenced her with a kiss. “Live. The rest of your life, love. We’ll get married on Ninth Day—“
“—Kelemday?”
Wyll smiled. “And, well, I’ll start running with my father as Duke, since we decided to stay in the city… Duke Florrick, Duke Eltan, Duke Ravengard, there's room for another Ravengard on the council.”
Karlach laughed. “Right, right. And you’ll be a duke on Tempday.”
Wyll furrowed his eyebrows in mock concern. “No, I imagine I’ll have it sorted before then.”
She chuckled, pressing a clawed hand against his chest, pushing him just slightly off as he leaned in for another kiss. “Oh, but the wedding will have to wait?"
Wyll frowned again. “Well, I imagine we’ll put some thought into it.” This time, his voice had a spark of genuine worry.

They were still holding hands. Just standing there holding hands. Neither of them wanted to let go, so they made no moves to do so until they heard Caleb call out that he was pretty sure this last spell would open the door. After a moment more, Beau broke her grasp on Yasha’s hands to rub at the back of her own neck in an all too familiar gesture. They meandered over towards the rest of the Nein, hands brushing every so often at their sides as they pretended not to notice.
