Summary
What is his purpose now, if Enjin’s found a new natural to recruit. Is it even a possibility, or is it a certainty? Enjin seemed certain. Zanka knows him. Despite his laid-back exterior, he was strong and determined. If he wanted something, he’d do his best to get it. This natural guy might as well already be on the team.
He’s not supposed to be so attached to The Cleaners, but he couldn’t help it. A selfish, childish piece of him thrived under the attention and the almost family-like connection he’s formed with Team Akuta and the others he’s gotten to know over time. This connection makes him weak, vulnerable. It interferes with everything he was taught and everything he strives to be.
And now it’s going to be the end of him, because Zanka doesn’t think he’ll be able to cope with having to leave. Because that’s what’s going to happen. It’s a cycle. He thinks he’s doing oh-so-well, but then some natural comes along and screws everything over for him.

“His feet felt too heavy to move and his energy too drained to try. Zanka was smart, he knew that if he didn’t move he would get badly hurt. There was a horned beast charging head first for him. If he were to remain still for just a few more seconds, it would hit him and he would bleed out in this deserted area.
He should really move.”
Or, Zanka has a hard time because suppressing your emotions for so long kinda tends to backfire after a while. He breaks down and Enjin comes to help put his kid back together with the glue that is found family love.

Summary
Their eyes widened at the realisation - it was too late. The shock paralysed them for a second too long to release the Umbreaker's power and shield them from the impending attack.
Enjin reached out to grab Zanka, to get him away. He had to at least save the boy who had given everything to surpass all his expectations. The potential hidden within him was worth any price.
But Zanka wanted to save the other as well. He preferred to put himself in danger if it meant that the older cleaner would come out of this uninjured. He owed him at least that much after everything Enjin did for him.
