Neil turns away from Matt's latest game, blinking his eyes when he realizes how dry they are.
Andrew's eyebrows are furrowed minutely; his lips drawn in a tight small line. His anger, though, has always lived in his eyes. Eyes that are currently piercing, a cold dark fury that makes Neil sit up straighter automatically."They're our first match for playoffs, and his team is good," Neil says. Andrew's anger weighs down his face further, which Neil expected.
Matt's team is good, but their offensive line is extremely weak, and with the season Andrew's been having, with the fact it's their first season together on the same team...it's insulting to insinuate that their team will lose.Neil was hoping it would be enough to goad Andrew into admitting he cares about the insult to his skill, but Andrew remains stony in his silence. Neil sighs, turning back to the TV when Andrew drops squarely into his lap, straddling his thighs.

Summary
He can already feel the flush on his cheeks stretching down his neck and across his shoulders. Neil is smiling again, pushing up to bring their lips together in a kiss much less frantic than the ones earlier. Andrew lets Neil set the pace, lets him lull him into a rhythm that makes his body throb.
This time when they break apart, Andrew kisses down his skin without taking the time to leave marks, simply enjoying the warmth of Neil beneath his lips. He pays special attention to Neil’s scars, feeling Neil’s hands come up to card through his hair as if he can’t help himself.
It’s only when Andrew moves down to his hips that he freezes.
“What the fuck is that.” Andrew knows each mark on Neil’s body, every scar and every freckle, but he’s never seen this before. He swipes at it with his thumb, as if the ink will smear, but it sits perfectly untouched on Neil’s hip.
“It’s a tattoo?” Neil sounds breathless, eyes half-lidded and hair an unruly mess as he looks down at him.

Summary
Neil was always going to run, the choice to reveal his name and hidden designation never should've swayed Andrew, but they had.
Neil had swayed him, and now Andrew can only reckon with the fact that he was stupid enough to want again.
It's those thoughts that are circling his head when the car pulls up. It's not smooth, he watches as the driver goes over the curb, though Andrew doesn't care enough to tell them off for their horrible park job.
Not until Neil fucking Josten practically collapses out of the driver's seat, beat to all hell and with red hair to boot.
Andrew is at his side before his conscious mind realizes, his body already having made the choice for him. He smells blood, and fear, but they're overpowered by the sweet scent of strawberry sorbet pouring out from Neil's neck.
His mouth starts to water as Neil practically folds into his arms, pupils blowing wide as he catches the heat scent of slick in the air. He has a second to curse before Neil is looking up at him, glazed eyes blinking heavily before getting stuck on Andrew's face.
"Andrew," He says his name like no one else ever has, possibly ever will.

Summary
Neil is practically plastered to his back as they head for the back of the bus. He turns back slightly to glare when Neil trips him, but the idiot doesn't even look apologetic.
Internally, Andrew rolls his eyes; he has a feeling he knows the reason for Neil's sudden clingy tendencies.
Andrew's arms are pleasantly sore from the full half he played, only letting in a single goal like Neil asked on their way here. He doesn't know yet what he'll ask for in return. Possibly a weekend getaway out of state or as many hours as Andrew wants dressing him up in the mall.
From the way Neil is trying to merge their bodies together, Andrew figures what he'll owe is far from his mind.

“We were talking about true mates!” Nicky says practically hopping up and down in his seat.
Neil blinks away memories from a windowless room, his ears itching with the whispers of a french accent.
“Okay?” Neil asks, not sure he wants to be talking about this. He wants to turn to Andrew for reassurance, for what he doesn’t know, but it feels too vulnerable for some reason, even in this room filled with his family.
Something must leak into his scent because Andrew is moving from his spot on Renee’s bed to the couch Neil’s been leaning back against. Neil adjusts so that Andrew can slide behind him completely, his legs framing Neil’s body from his spot on the floor.
Neil hovers a hand over his calf, only wrapping his arm around it when Andrew pushes into his touch. Andrew’s warm fingers grasp the mess of Neil’s curls next, still tousled from them earlier, and drag him to lean against the plush muscle of his thigh.
“I’m still not used to them being adorable,” Dan stage whispers to Allison.
With Andrew bracketing him, it’s a lot easier for Neil to pay attention to their words now.
“So what about true mates?” Neil asks, all unease forgotten.
