“It will be first time for the both of us, yes?” Ilya dipped his finger into the jar, and Shane winced as it came out covered in the sticky substance.
“You’ve never eaten honey either?”
“I have, Hollander. Many times.”
“Then first time for what?”
Shane's eyes never left the honey-soaked finger as it made its way towards his face. Up close the scent was overwhelmingly sweet, and he could almost taste the sugar…but almost wasn’t good enough, not anymore. He longed for the taste, the feeling of it on his tongue.
“Откро́й,” Ilya whispered, eyes conveying a hunger different from the one Shane was feeling. “I wish to feed you.”Or; After a fainting spell left him injured on the ice, Shane Hollander accepted that he had to give up his restrictive diet. Fortunately for him, his extremely hot Russian teammate offered to help. Unfortunately for him, said teammate was also his extremely annoying rival, Ilya Rozanov.

Ilya, still blank-faced, took a long moment to look between his daughter, Shane, and the ring in Shane's hand, evaluating the arguments he was presented with.
"Well, she is right. You did take the ring." Ilya answered, straight-faced and logical, like this wasn't a ridiculous argument to be entertaining, let alone playing along with.
