“Well, it’s not every day my best friend gets to join the Crownsguard. You’ve worked your ass off.” Noctis coughed and reached for his water. Prompto ignored his own for now even though his mouth felt dry. “So, I figured we should do something a bit more special. If you don’t like it though we can leave. I ordered for us but I’ll have them pack it up and we can get pizza or whatever.”
Noctis invited Prompto out to celebrate getting into the Crownsguard, but perhaps he had an ulterior motive.

Lucifer took a deep breath. “I can’t hurt sinners, as you already know, but I can’t help them either, not directly.” He forced himself to meet Alastor’s eyes while he raised a claw to the side of his neck. He let it slice through his skin, golden blood welling up and sliding down to his collarbone where it collected.
“My blood can help you, but you’re gonna have to take it for yourself, Alastor.” He smirked, putting his hands out to the sides, palms open. “I’m guessing that won’t be a problem for you.”
A light night confrontation with Alastor ended in ways that Lucifer never could have predicted.
But he wouldn't complain.

This was the third time this had happened this week. Ever since – ever since the pills Bel usually sent him had stopped working, and could he be any more of a failure? Lucifer is having a bad time of things. He wants one thing from Alastor, one thing that Alastor is not usually open to considering - and when Alastor leaves in a huff after Lucifer blows up at him, he wouldn't blame the sinner for staying away. He's not expecting Alastor to come back - and to have come up with his own solution.
