Summary
He’s seen Todoroki walk Yuuei’s grounds with an empty, heartbreaking look in his eyes. Everyone knows why, everyone has something to say to him, but no one really does.
Most days, the kid has Midoriya at his side, rambling on quietly about whatever topic is plaguing his mind.
Some days, it’s Midoriya and a slow-moving Bakugou, each flanking him with little discussion.
On increasingly more occasions, surprisingly, he has Hitoshi following in step, silently, acting almost like a shadow.
So much has happened, and while Aizawa walks to talk to him, he doesn’t want to push or pry, because the kid deserves space. Instead, he just keeps a close eye on Todoroki and lets him do his own thing, waiting for the time when the kid hopefully comes to him.

Post-war, Aizawa finds a way to use his new-found time.

Summary
Aizawa’s surprisingly gentle as he tugs the bandaids off, discarding them in a pile on the mat.
Shouto struggles to read the look on his face as he gets his first good look at all of the damage. Aizawa’s either hiding his emotions really well or Shouto was right and his nails (or partial lack of) really aren’t that big of a deal.

Summary
Aizawa talks as they walk down long, swaying hallways, about things Shouto can’t possibly comprehend, but he just walks beside the man, walks beside what feels like this pillar of protection, and lets him lead.
Shouto vaguely wonders why Aizawa’s so calm and understanding about all this.~~~~~~~
Something’s wrong with Todoroki Shouto so he relies on someone else to help him sort it all out.

Summary
Then, it's just the three of them in the entrance of some random alley, and Aizawa can feel Shouto’s body shaking. He reaches down to gently lay a hand on his back and the kid flinches, his back stiffening as he buries his face in the fabric covering Aizawa’s thigh.
“I’m sorry, kiddo,” he murmurs, moving to retract his hand when Shouto’s tiny fingers wrap around his pinky. He lets the kid hold onto his hand again and when an ambulance silently pulls up at the street, Shouto squeezes tight.
