But right now, Izuku’s fear of disappointing his friend with false expectations far outweighs any fear he has of Kacchan’s fury. He would rather fight off explosives than have the inevitably awkward conversation to follow with Melissa, so he continues speaking, “So there is this event happening this weekend, and I heard you were already going, so I was just wondering if you’d like to come with me as my hero partner.”
He gulps, “And, maybe, just maybe, only if needed, and is absolutely necessary, pretend to be my boyfriend.” His voice grows smaller and smaller with every word, the last one barely audible, and he averts his gaze to fixate on his red shoes instead of the blond’s fiery eyes.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku breaks a gauntlet. It should be an easy fix. Instead, it sends him straight to U.A.'s Support Course and directly into Bakugou Katsuki, a brilliant, foul mouthed, first year engineer who takes one look at Izuku's damaged gear and decided whoever designed it clearly had no idea what they were doing. They don't like each other. At least, that's how it starts. One repaired gauntlet becomes another visit. Another visit becomes an unfinished conversation. Somewhere between prototype testing, arguments across work benches, stolen food, field exercises, and a custom hero suit built around every tiny detail of the way Izuku moves, they stop needing excuses to find each other. Izuku is training to become a Hero. Katsuki is determine to prove that Support was never second place. They're headed two completely different futures. They just keep making room for each other in them.
