Disclaimers on the first chapter because of character limit, but here is the short of it: MC is a normal guy trapped in SAO, no previous knowledge or anything like that. Romance but no smut, and no harem. The plan is to write all 100 floors of Aincrad and beyond. Slow start following canon, but deviates in minor and major ways with big consequences.
This was originally posted on Webnovel and Royalroad starting about 3 years ago, and continuing to this day. It's already at chapter 232 as of this note, and going to take a while to catch up here on Ao3 since I'm taking the chance to fix some things.
Finally, I haven't read the fic Unyielding (I don't read fics of fandoms I'm currently writing). I say that because I know you will bring it up. Any and all similarities are just two great minds thinking alike.
