Summary

Summary
While clearing a high-level quest in the Unital Ring game world, twenty-five-year-old Kazuto (Kirito) miscalculates a parry against a boss. Before the fatal hit lands, Asuna steps in to absorb the damage, causing her health bar to plunge into the critical red zone. The sound and visual trigger severe PTSD in Kazuto, violently flashing him back to the 75th floor of Aincrad when Asuna sacrificed herself against Heathcliff. Enraged and terrified, Kazuto destroys the boss instantly.
Once back in their real-world Tokyo apartment, Kazuto breaks down in a panic attack, confronting Asuna out of raw fear of losing her again. Asuna quickly realizes his anger stems from unhealed trauma rather than the game itself. Cupping his face, she grounds him in the present, reassuring him that they are safe, alive, and out of Aincrad, reaffirming her love and commitment to always protect him while promising to be more careful.
