A whole month went by, and Furina had not told Arlecchino anything. Furina, to her credit, had been working tirelessly in her director roles and attempting to make the play flawless for half a month. She didn’t have the time to make a doctor’s appointment and get checked out.
Though with the way she was throwing up every morning and keeping it a secret from Arlecchino, the pregnancy test might have been true.

A faint rustling came from behind the ajar door.
A heartbeat later, it creaked open, and one of her job's many responsibilities quietly stepped inside.
Wednesday didn't react, waiting for the inevitable.
She heard tiny feet shuffling across the floor and felt a pair of sleepy— yet most likely excited —brown eyes fixed on her. Listening to the congested little sniffles, she counted down the seconds.
It didn't take long.
“Mamá?”
At last, a hoarse, slightly squeaky voice called out, carefully forced into a whisper, in a determined effort not to scare anyone.
With a slow inhale, blinking away the last traces of sleep, Wednesday finally turned her full attention to the small visitor standing obediently just beside the bed.
“Have you been awake long?”
