“What I mean is that there’s no shame in never reaching chunin rank.” Gai’s voice lowered with uncharacteristic gravity. “You can be a genin and work every bit as hard as a chunin or a jounin, and still protect your village and serve your people. I want – no, I need you to understand this, otherwise sitting for the chunin exams is pointless.”
With the chunin exams looming, Gai offers his team some much-needed reassurance that rank is hardly a perfect measure of worth.
