Summary
It's a typical cursebearer-curing mission, and nothing even goes wrong! But when it's time to turn in for the night, Vanitas is left without a partner, without an explanation, and without a clue as to where he's gone. Surely nothing's wrong. Noé could take care of himself.
Now if only Vanitas could convince himself of that.
Fully written and updating every 3 days because I'm impatient, this fic is set a bit after chapter 60 with some info from 61 so if you're not caught up, beware of spoilers! Also if lore changes after just dont even worry about it

Summary
Batman is missing and rogues are dropping like flies. The strangest part is, their death's mimic the worst ways in which they've hurt the bats over the years. It feels more like a threat than a gift, and it's up to batman's kids and closest allies to figure out what the hell is going on. It ends at the beginning, and things are quickly going off the rails.

SO GOOD!!! The way re8 introduced the vampire/werewolf stuff feels so wacky and fun— and your handling of it is really nice. It’s of course fake science so that part doesn’t need to be explained beyond the series’s internal rules, but I feel a lot of writers struggle to still make the work *feel* like resident evil when including those fantastical elements. This work does a great job still keeping the re vibes while balancing the fantasy viruses.
Also I love the way Leon and Chris’s natures work against each other. Lots of times the relationships get rushed with some sort of virus or magic induced bond/connection immediately formed between the characters; the fact that it’s the exact opposite in this fic is a breath of fresh air. Also reinforces the “monstrous” aspect, the “I don’t want do hurt you, but I might not get a choice” which I think is the most effective part of infection horror.
Jilllllllll my girl jillll!!!! I love the touches of the platinum hair and the reduced scent demonstrating she’s still dealing with her own demons. Harker using her as a prop is so reminiscent of old gothic stories. Misogynistic writers who would remove the women’s agency in their novels because they genuinely didn’t see women as people, just as tools to make their men’s stories. It super lines up with everything we’ve seen with him, especially his vampire obsession. It gives us more to work with for him, like now I imagine him discovering these books as a kid and slowly becoming more and more obsessed with them. Lots of character from one decision!
Anyway sorry to ramble, loved reading this so far and thank you so much for sharing it!!!

The red moonlight, filtering through the shattered stained-glass window, fell upon his body like a perverse blessing: his blond hair with reddish highlights accentuated the beauty of that defiant face, his eyes, showing confusion, gazing at the red sky beneath the dome, almost mesmerized, his lips parted so that he could hear his stifled breath, and the light bathed his skin in scarlet reflections, outlining his silhouette against the blood-stained marble. An almost innocent vision, like that of an angel fallen into hell itself.
Wesker observed him with a different gleam in his eyes—not just curiosity, but something akin to fascination.
"Look at that…" he whispered with delight. His footsteps echoed softly, confidently, as he descended from the balcony and walked through the smoke toward the altar. Every meter that separated them seemed to shrink, each of Leon's breaths merging with the distant roar of the flames. "What an irony, isn't it? You throw yourself into the lion's den, and the entire universe conspires to crown you as an offering. Right beneath the red moon...Right where the bride was meant to be."
The last sentence was a deliciously cruel whisper.
