“Well, kark,” the Mandalorian said, staring up at the smoking underbelly of his new (and maybe a bit more than lightly used) Razor Crest. “That’s… not good.”
It had taken months to track down his current bounty, all to end up shot down and stranded on some gods-forsaken dusty rock in the Outer Rim.
When Din took his first puck from the Bounty Hunters Guild on Nevarro, he had expected a cut and dry case. Some spice runner deep in debt with local Tatooinian crime lords, sure. A runner-turned-smuggler wanted by the Empire? No problem. He’d done a few gigs like it as an independent contractor before. But one with a ship that had made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs?
Kriff that.

This story follows canon for maybe three seconds. Din and Luke meet pre-A New Hope, sparks fly, and everyone gets burned. But for a while, things are good- until the Empire sticks its wrinkly nose where it shouldn't, and I blow up canon like the Death Star.

Summary

Luke Skywalker’s control is starting to slip but something lurks in the shadows of a dying planet, and instead of rehabilitating Luke finds himself fighting for survival in a long-forgotten corner of space.
Din Djarin thinks about the Jedi, sometimes, and the way he had held Grogu so carefully and so closely. He certainly never expected to be commissioned on a mission that would rattle the foundations of his carefully constructed life and strip him of all his armor - real and perceived.
And Boba Fett has really had it up to here with idiots who walk blindly and blithely into danger, thanks.
