The whip sang through the air with a high, almost birdsong-like whistle.
Then the leather cracked across his flesh.
It felt as if he’d been struck with a red-hot poker. His back arched involuntarily. He was only vaguely aware that he was screaming, black spots dancing across his vision. The ropes bit into his wrists.
“One.”Stede is captured on his way back to Ed and refuses to allow any more harm to come to his crew. Hurt/comfort with an emphasis on the "hurt". We take care of wounds (as a crew)! Implied Blackbeard/Stede but not focused on it. Tried to think ahead with tags/trigger warnings, but please take care & let me know if I should tag any additional stuff!

Summary
A crew conducts a daring raid on the ship of the Mad Wizard Low, rescuing a man who's lost his memories. As Stede adjusts to his new life onboard a pirate ship, fleeing from the wrath of the wizard and trying to avoid the navy of the Immortal King, he tries to piece together what happened to him.

Stede has witnessed a murder and is set to testify in a couple of weeks. After he receives threats from the defendant, he is given personal protection by the US Marshalls, namely one Edward Teach. Ed promises to keep Stede safe, if he can stop himself from murdering the idiot himself in the meantime.
Or taking him to bed. That's also maybe a risk.
