Summary
Apparently, Dazai hadn’t been lying when he said it wasn’t far. It was only about five minutes later when they were standing right in front of…
“An animal shelter?! Dazai, what the actual fuck?”
His friend simply gave him a lopsided smirk, but, oddly enough, didn’t say a single word. Chuuya quietly wished for him to be so quiet every day – although if he was being serious, he wouldn’t want that in the long run, – but he had other, more pressing concerns right now.
“Did you seriously bring me here just to make one of your sick dog jokes?!”
Or: It's Chuuya's 16th birthday, and Dazai insists there's some kind of "surprise", dragging him through the whole town, essentially wasting his time. And why did he bring him to a fucking animal shelter?!

Summary
Dazai looked a little smug as they both came to a stop right in front of him and Sigma. “Look at who’s acquaintance I made,” he grinned. “This is–”
“I can introduce myself very well, thank you,” the stranger spoke with an accent, lips curling around a small frown. An accent! “My name is Fyodor Dostoevsky.”
The rushing in his ears didn’t slow in the slightest, yet he grinned at the man who he finally knew the name of. Fyodor. He’d have to deal with being called by his first name.
“I’m Nikolai,” he introduced himself, giving a bow much similar to the dramatic one he had given Dazai earlier. “Nikolai Gogol. It’s truly a pleasure to be meeting you, Fyodor, quite a pleasure.”
Or: Nikolai is at a so far incredibly boring ball together with his best friend Sigma. However, when he sees Fyodor for the first time and is then introduced to him by Dazai, he feels utterly helpless. Perhaps, the night isn't going to be so boring after all?

Summary
Zero.
A number etched onto Dazai's wrist like a tattoo he'd regret the day after getting it. A small black oval that reminds him that he doesn't belong amongst others.
It's not supposed to be like this - permanent, unchanging, pathetically low. This number supposedly reflects compatibility two people have. Should two people join hands, the same number appears on their wrists. The most prominent number is thirty, people seeing eye-to-eye. They say middle forties is enough for a healthy friendship, and seventy is what most consider a fair compatibility for a happy marriage. Anything above eighty is rare, kindred souls who can hardly part from each other. A hundred is the highest it can be. Soulmates, destined for each other by fate.
All Dazai has ever gotten is a zero.
