“They’re not sending me with an architect,” Captain Frelennye replies. “Much less anyone else.”
“I’ve received orders.” Vanyel’s never had an officer outright refuse his command. He’s not even certain that’s what’s happening right now.
“What, you’re an architect?” Captain Frelennye’s expression shifts, his brow pinching and gaze unfocusing. “Of course you are.”
