Jayce has self-control.
He has always been a disciplined, note-worthy child, with patience and maturity that rivaled that of his seniors. He knows all his limits. He has stopped himself when he started to get ahead, and has pushed himself when he started to get behind.
He has self-control. It’s a blessing, really. He’s used it all his life. In the lab, to not jump to conclusions, to take his time with his math and calculations. To eat slow and run fast.
But Viktor is a fucking enigma to him.

Summary
Medical student Jayce Talis makes a huge mistake that gets him kicked out of his residency program. The very night he wants to end it all, he stumbles across a mysterious website: thecommune.group. Thanks, I’m well aware of how people see me and how they want me. The one fumbling entanglement in the basement of a house party was enough for me though, because she found it weird when I started crying and then got so mad that I wouldn’t scent her that she left.
And I only did it because she smelled so good, like a river, like fresh cut grass, and it made me so jealous I was dizzy with it. I wanted to be her, and I thought that was close enough to wanting her, and it wasn’t, and it took five minutes for my knot to go down after I locked myself in the bathroom to jerk off and I had a panic attack the whole time and then I threw up in the sink and vowed to be celibate for the rest of my life.
“She’s not my type either,” he settles on, maybe more melancholic than he means to be.
