“You have been alone all this time, haven’t you?” She lowers herself to the ground, crouching next to the small creature and allows it to smell the light in her hand, her fingers. She wonders at his ability to still exist. She shakes her head, thinking that it took her all but a minute to start talking to it.
What do you see, Galadriel? Looks can be deceiving.
She laughs at the thought, taps the top of her thigh, and delights when the little creature jumps up and yields to her fingers rubbing its velvety black ears.

After the war of the ring, Galadriel visits the ruins of Barad-dûr.

Perhaps they should start a war, Maekar thought, as Prince Valarr began to cough in his brother’s arms. Baelor’s amusement fell away instantly, and he raised the boy in his arms so that he wasn’t lying down. His entire body shook with the force of his coughing and his head fell limply against Baelor’s shoulder. Maekar knew, of course, that little children could easily fall sick, but he could not fathom that it could happen to Baelor’s child.
